Okay. Let’s get this over and done with.

For the past 2 days I’ve been trying to write a decent “first post”. I wrote a few paragraphs just to delete the whole thing again and again. Blame the mood, the laziness or even the TV channel that keep putting on re-runs of “Despicable Me” to distract me. I did think of skipping the whole thing and just write everything I got crammed into my brain out but it just seemed weird.

This first post was supposed to be the “WHY” post. Why did I start blogging? Why did I cleaned up the old contents of this blog and start anew?

So, here goes:

The first time I start writing a public blog, I wrote to make people laugh. Using comedy, I tried making my daily life more interesting and entertaining to read. But over the weeks, months and years, things happen and it changes the way I write. I started writing to get the stress out of by mind, to state my opinion of how things should be done, how people should behave — I used my blog to channel out my anger, rants and endless whining. Up until one time I stopped and realised that I’ve used the word “IMHO” – In My Humble Opinion on EVERY post I wrote.

It got me thinking :

When I wrote “IMHO”, did I really mean it? Did I really mean to just state my opinion WITHOUT having expectations upon other people to actually agree with me and start behaving to my “humble” standards? And when I wrote those “standards” have I myself live up to my own words or am I just a big hypocrite?

In the end, who am I to preach about what’s right and wrong when in the end I’m just human myself?

I want to create a personal blog where I can share the life lessons I learned from my own experiences and inspirations – maybe from a book that I just read or real life situations that happened to me or to people around me (of course I would always ask for their permission to share their stories here beforehand). I want to create a blog that would spread positive energy and happiness. A blog that would make the readers smiled with relief and hope, or even giggled.

I admit that it won’t be easy. It’s always easier to write things based on your emotions – especially based on heartache and anger and it’s always easier to write critics than compliments. Not to mention that I have to be extra careful in the way I write since there’s a real thin line between sharing a story about the lesson I learned or (again) stating my opinions (read: my idealism) over things

But one can always try
